The Art and Application division of Monovore Books is pleased to announce a new title from one of the world's authorities on physical metamatics.

Foundations of Physical Metamatics
Ivanar W. Meterschmant

Without a doubt, the revelation that pure logical forms can instantiate physical changes and action at a distance must count as one of the greatest discoveries of all time. This text is intended to serve as an introduction to the field. The reader is expected to already have a good understanding of classical metamatics, including time and space transformations, ontological infinitesimals up to the third degree, and self-induced Grassman-Ede quintic forms. The included appendices summarize the definitions and main results of these fields as a convenience. Each chapter concludes with a set of exercises. It is essential to read them completely and take care in implementation. The ones marked with a star should only be undertaken with proper precautions. Be sure to check the errata sheet for any last-minute corrections.

Chapter One  illuminates the Great Dichotomy, and you will notice red exclamation marks at certain points, where a slip of mind can lead one into Error. Specifically, the nature of meta-logical completeness is emphasized, with its main results: the solution to the problem of automated halting, and the proof that all transfinites are isomorphic. As a caution to unsophisticated readers, the Error arguments are given as well. One must believe that the diagonalization “proof” fails in order to progress. Do not be discouraged by the difficulty of this material, and remember that the ‘meta’ in metamatics means that a certain amount of raw belief is required in the axioms.

Chapter Two builds upon this groundwork develop the Ede self-referential diagram and calculate its limits in the simplest cases. Although there is almost no danger in carrying these limits out to infinity, a section on approximation is provided, which makes even the slightest possibility of self-immolation vanish. These exercises are marked with a star.

Chapter Three is a practical bridge between the theory in the first half of the book and the applications to follow. The sections give a reliable guide to basic Ede-space telecognition. The exercises are designed to allow you to employ a cognitive surrogate at a safe distance, so that when you inevitably make mistakes, they won’t be lethal (to you). Included with the text are ten scan codes for reduced-price surrogates through International Mindhouse.

Chapter Four contains the heart of the foundational practice of physical metamatics, covering thermodynamic change and spacial translation. Much of the material is marked with two stars, meaning that the figures involved should only be carried out with surrogates.

Chapter Five introduces more advanced material, which requires the cooperation of several metamaticians operating through surrogates in harmony. Causal diagram limits are given for general entropic control, light-bending, and teleportation. These require much time to master, and the applications have been chosen for simplicity, reliability, and their power to illuminate the underlying theory.
